It is logical to presume, if one goes to a wine farm, it means the only thing to do there is to drink wine. However, wine farms these days, are famous for their diversity. Cavalli Estate opened the art gallery and boutique shop, in Vergelegen Wine Estate you can learn more about South Africa at the historical museum, relax with your family at the picnic site or celebrate a special occasion at Camphors restaurant.
I thought I knew everything about Lourensford Estate, where we would have breakfast or lunch with the friends at the Organic Market, buying fresh and delicious food, fruits and vegetables, freshly squeezed juice and smoothie, pastries and ice cream, tasting some craft beer and wine. Later on, we would move to The Coffee Roasting Company for some freshly grounded coffee and desserts. Boys can catch a fish, such as rainbow trout, at the river and ride a bike on the mountains. Recently they opened a yoga studio, where you can practice yoga in the fresh air. What a bliss!
I love this farm and its people, that’s why I happily agreed to join my friends from No Danger Diaries for one secret event, they were hosting at the farm – The Secret Sunrise. Their main secret was that the participants should take off the serious masks, dissolve the exaggerated ego, remove daily importance and become ordinary open people - childishly rejoicing to everything they feel, sincerely reacting to what they see and hear.
Born under African skies, the global movement Secret Sunrise aims to unite the world through dance and conscious collaboration. This global family aims to get the world grooving. It is the guided dance, which celebrates the morning sunrise. Instructors, silent headphones and the most epic way to start a day. We were given a chance to pull back from the artificial techno-world devouring our time and to enter different dimension, where people took time to interact with each other, to look each other in the eyes and notice everyone, not just put "likes" on social media, but approach and embrace each other, share the joy and happiness.
Not everyone is ready to look ridiculous, funny and totally free, that is why these events will be kept in secret.
