Knysna - Garden Route

Knysna is beautiful through the year !

When I grow old, I will definitely move to Knysna. I will buy a log house in the forest and start writing my travel notes. I might even start writing a novel about some travelling and adventures, about love and dreams. I will hide there from a seasonal heat and from a flow of tourists. And with the nearest opportunity, I will go to the city.
Knysna – the ideal place for that. Knysna is beautiful through the year. “She” like your mother, always waits for you and welcomes you there. For me it always a good weather in Knysna, even if it is raining a bit. I love its tasty food and fresh ingredients, whether they are delivered from the garden or fresh-caught from the ocean.

Knysna is a paradise for yachtsmen. I don't think I will soon get a new hobby and buy a yacht but to watch how these gorgeous boats are sailing on the ocean is breathtaking. I like to explore the ocean and feel a breeze on my face while riding a yacht or a boat, observing how the sun is going down on the horizon. It is always exciting to share such moments with close friends or with someone special. Oysters and champagne aboard!
I look with admiration at the motorcyclists rushing with a speed at the mountain passes. I understand that I am too scared to operate such iron horse. As for me the ordinary car or the roofless jeep will do. This way I will be able to feel the wind on my face, to smell the ocean, to see the sky over the head and to become closer to nature and people. What else can I add?

One shouldn’t forget to put a diving suit and a surfboard into the jeep in order to change your clothes quickly and elegantly when you reach the beach. You can park your car on a bank of the Buffalo Bay and jump in the coming wave! It is so refreshing. And then you can stretch on a hot sand and forget about everything! At least for a couple of minutes.
There is a big surprise waiting for fans of golf – golf courses of a world class. Two of them are overlooking lakes and the forest Simola Golf Estate and Knysna Golf Club, another, which is the best one, is overlooking the ocean and the mountain Pezula Championship Golf Course. It is a pity that I don't play golf.

This city is also popular among hippies and Bohemia. There are many musical concerts and interesting shows, amazing art and craft exhibitions in Knysna. Here I feel at home. I like the vibe and the atmosphere. I am still amazed of human ingenuity and flexibility of mind. Many things have been created already, but there are many are being born every day. It is excellent!
If I get tired of all the activities, as an option, I can go to the beach in the morning on Brenton on Sea, and in the evening I will pay a visit to one of the restaurants in Knysna. Relax, eat some freshly-caught fish and listen to a live music. Then I can return to my forest. I am glad that there is a moratorium on deforestation for 200 years so, I hope, I will be safe for now. And the roar of bulldozers and power saws won’t wake me up in the middle of the night, like in horror movie.
I shouldn’t have shared all of this with you. There are already 51 thousand people in Knysna. Soon I will be moving there (even though I am not going to grow old yet). Maybe everyone will decide to move there. Would it be enough space for all of us?
